About Stellar Assault

Take control of a lone starfighter and survive 40 relentless waves of alien enemies hell-bent on your destruction. Choose from four unique vessels, the nimble Interceptor, the hard-hitting Destroyer, the evasive Phantom, or the heavily armored Dreadnought, each with its own stats and playstyle. Every wave you survive earns upgrade points. Repair your hull, boost your weapons, reinforce your shields, deploy combat drones, and push your ship to its limits.

There is no account behind Stellar Assault and no progress to lose. Close the tab mid-round and the guide you were reading is exactly where you left it.

Treat this as the pause it is meant to be: two rounds, then back to the page you were actually reading.

How to Play

  1. Press play on the frame above. Stellar Assault starts in the same tab; no window pops up and nothing downloads.
  2. Controls, as published with the game: mouse or keyboard move WASD arrow keys space fire.
  3. Give it one full round before deciding. Most of these open slowly and get interesting once the board is half-full.
  4. Close the tab when you are done. There is no save file to manage and no account to log out of.

Before You Press Play

If the first round goes badly, stop. Short games are not worth a second attempt if the first one annoyed you.
Nothing here saves. That is a feature, not a bug - the next session starts clean.
Choose by round length, not by thumbnail. A game that ends in three minutes is worth more than one that swallows an hour.

Frequently Asked Questions About Stellar Assault

Does Stellar Assault work well on an older laptop?

Yes - casual HTML5 games are deliberately light on graphics and memory. Keep browser zoom at 100 percent, close heavy tabs, and make sure hardware acceleration is on. If it still stutters, a different browser is the quickest fix.

Does Stellar Assault need my full attention?

No. It is a low-pressure game without punishing timers, which is what separates casual titles from arcade grinders. You can play it half-watching a video, though the high-score chase rewards focus if you decide to take it seriously.

The controls in Stellar Assault do not respond when I press keys.

Browsers only send keyboard input to the part of the page you last clicked on. Click once inside the game area and then try the keys again. On mobile, make sure no overlay is covering the screen and that gesture navigation is not swallowing your taps.

Is Stellar Assault suitable for children?

Yes, Stellar Assault is family-friendly content with no violence beyond cartoon levels and no chat with strangers. Parents who want extra control should use their browser's family or supervised-profile settings, since those work across every site a child visits.

Can I play Stellar Assault with friends or other players?

Some browser games include live multiplayer, but Stellar Assault is a single-player title. A friendly way to compete is to compare high scores with someone playing on their own device, since scores are saved locally for each player.

Will Stellar Assault pressure me into buying anything?

No. There are no energy timers, no premium currency and no upsell screens inside the game. The page's ads are the entire business model, which is why the game itself stays completely free and uninterrupted.

Why is there no sound in Stellar Assault?

Modern browsers block audio until you interact with the page. Click or tap once inside the game and the sound will start. If it still does not, check the small speaker icon on the browser tab - pages can be muted individually without you noticing.

Does Stellar Assault have in-app purchases or hidden costs?

No. There is nothing to buy inside Stellar Assault - no energy systems, no premium currency and no pay-to-win items. The game is supported by advertising on the page, which is why it can stay free for everyone.

Do I need to download or install anything to play Stellar Assault?

No. Stellar Assault is an HTML5 game that runs entirely inside the web page, so opening this page is the whole installation. If any site asks you to install a downloader, extension or .exe file before playing, close that page - a real browser game never needs one.

Can I play Stellar Assault on a school or work Chromebook?

Usually yes. Chromebooks run everything through the browser, which is exactly what an HTML5 game like Stellar Assault needs. Lighter 2D titles run especially well on modest hardware, and nothing has to be installed, which suits managed devices.

What Players Say About Stellar Assault

★★★★★Tom G. · June 2025

Works fine on the school Chromebook, which is where most of my playing happens. Nothing to install means nothing for the IT filter to complain about. Solid game.

★★★★☆Chris W. · March 2026

No lag, no crashes, no begging me to install an app. Stellar Assault respects your time and that alone earns the fifth star. Gameplay is a familiar formula but polished.

★★★★★Megan L. · June 2026

Stellar Assault is my standing-in-queue game now. One hand, portrait mode, a round takes two minutes. It has quietly replaced the 40 minutes of daily doomscrolling and I feel better about my phone.

★★★★★Lucas H. · September 2025

Really smooth on mobile - I was ready for the usual touch-control disaster but the taps register perfectly in Stellar Assault. Rotation to landscape made it even better.

★★★★☆Emma K. · May 2026

The kind of game you can play half-asleep. I have a routine now: coffee, news, one round of Stellar Assault. Simple, satisfying, never asks me for anything. Recommended for anyone with a commute.
