Magnet Sort: How It Plays and What to Expect

One of the casual titles we keep beside the insurance reading, sized for a short pause.

If the frame stays black, reload once - a slow connection is the usual cause. The game itself is served by its publisher.

About Magnet Sort

Magnet Sort is a fast-paced industrial arcade game where you control a powerful magnetic crane above a moving factory conveyor. Time each drop carefully, collect valuable components, build combos, and avoid dangerous batteries and explosive canisters. Take on 40 increasingly challenging contracts in Career mode. Contracts are grouped into series and feature different combinations of target components, strict time limits, and valuable rewards. Lives carry over between contracts, so every mistake matters.

Like everything on this shelf, Magnet Sort is an embedded game and nothing more - no email gate, no account, no upsell between you and the first round.

Treat this as the pause it is meant to be: two rounds, then back to the page you were actually reading.

How to Play

  1. Press play on the frame above. Magnet Sort starts in the same tab; no window pops up and nothing downloads.
  2. Controls, as published with the game: desktop hold the left mouse button or space.
  3. Expect the first round to be a warm-up. The rules are simple; the difficulty sits in the pacing, not in the buttons.
  4. Close the tab when you are done. There is no save file to manage and no account to log out of.

Before You Press Play

If the first round goes badly, stop. Short games are not worth a second attempt if the first one annoyed you.
Nothing here saves. That is a feature, not a bug - the next session starts clean.
Choose by round length, not by thumbnail. A game that ends in three minutes is worth more than one that swallows an hour.

Frequently Asked Questions About Magnet Sort

Can I play Magnet Sort with friends or other players?

Some browser games include live multiplayer, but Magnet Sort is a single-player title. A friendly way to compete is to compare high scores with someone playing on their own device, since scores are saved locally for each player.

The controls in Magnet Sort do not respond when I press keys.

Browsers only send keyboard input to the part of the page you last clicked on. Click once inside the game area and then try the keys again. On mobile, make sure no overlay is covering the screen and that gesture navigation is not swallowing your taps.

I play Magnet Sort every day - will I run out of content?

Casual games are built around repeatable loops rather than a story that ends, so the same round stays enjoyable for the small improvements you make each time. Daily play is the intended rhythm, and your local best scores keep track of how far you have come.

How do I restart Magnet Sort or start a fresh run?

Most rounds restart from the game's own menu or the restart button on the end screen. If you want a completely clean state, reload the page. Clearing local storage resets saved scores too, but remember that also erases your best results.

How is Magnet Sort different from the app store versions of similar games?

Nothing to install, nothing updates in the background, and nothing takes storage space. You also avoid the typical mobile monetisation of forced ads between every round. The trade-off is that progress is saved in the browser rather than synced to an account.

Why did my progress in Magnet Sort disappear?

Local scores are stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browsing data, playing in a private or incognito window, or using guest mode all wipe that storage. Play in a normal window and avoid the clear-cache button if a high score matters to you.

Does Magnet Sort work well on an older laptop?

Yes - casual HTML5 games are deliberately light on graphics and memory. Keep browser zoom at 100 percent, close heavy tabs, and make sure hardware acceleration is on. If it still stutters, a different browser is the quickest fix.

Part of Magnet Sort looks cut off or oversized. How do I fix the view?

Reset your browser zoom to 100 percent and reload. If the edges are still clipped, maximise the window, rotate a mobile device if the game supports orientation changes, or use the in-game scale or fullscreen control. Zoom changes the page layout, so it is the first thing to check.

Why does Magnet Sort run slowly or feel laggy?

Stutter is usually memory pressure, not the game itself. Close idle tabs and background programs, pause heavy browser extensions such as large filter lists, and lower the in-game quality setting if there is one. On laptops and phones, letting a warm device cool down for a few minutes also restores normal frame rates.

Can I play Magnet Sort with one hand on my phone?

Yes. Casual games like this are designed around single-thumb input, so every important action is reachable with one finger while holding the phone in one hand. Portrait or landscape both work; pick whichever feels comfortable.
