About Haunted Inn

Ghost Inn is a survival horror game set in ancient China. Defend your inn from vengeful spirits, upgrade defenses, and survive the night! Can you outsmart the ghosts and keep your inn running?

Like everything on this shelf, Haunted Inn is an embedded game and nothing more - no email gate, no account, no upsell between you and the first round.

Treat this as the pause it is meant to be: two rounds, then back to the page you were actually reading.

How to Play

  1. Press play on the frame above. Haunted Inn starts in the same tab; no window pops up and nothing downloads.
  2. Controls, as published with the game: tap to build upgrade defenses swipe to navigate tap.
  3. Give it one full round before deciding. Most of these open slowly and get interesting once the board is half-full.
  4. Close the tab when you are done. There is no save file to manage and no account to log out of.

Before You Press Play

Leave the quote tab open beside it. The point is to return to it, not to replace it.
Sound off is the default in most offices and open-plan kitchens. Keep it that way.
Two minutes means two minutes. Watch the clock once and then stop watching it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Haunted Inn

How is Haunted Inn different from the app store versions of similar games?

Nothing to install, nothing updates in the background, and nothing takes storage space. You also avoid the typical mobile monetisation of forced ads between every round. The trade-off is that progress is saved in the browser rather than synced to an account.

Can I play Haunted Inn on a school or work Chromebook?

Usually yes. Chromebooks run everything through the browser, which is exactly what an HTML5 game like Haunted Inn needs. Lighter 2D titles run especially well on modest hardware, and nothing has to be installed, which suits managed devices.

Can I play Haunted Inn on my phone or tablet?

Yes. Haunted Inn is built for mobile browsers as well as desktop, and touch controls are detected automatically. Racing and arcade titles usually feel best in landscape orientation, while slower games work fine held upright. Close background apps first on older phones so the game gets enough memory.

How do I play Haunted Inn in fullscreen?

Look for the fullscreen icon in the game's own toolbar, or press the fullscreen key your browser offers (often F11). Maximising the window and setting browser zoom to 100 percent also gives you the largest, correctly scaled view.

Why did Haunted Inn freeze after I switched to another tab or app?

Browsers pause background tabs to save resources, and some games lose focus as a result. Return to the tab, click once inside the game area to restore focus, and if the session still looks stuck, a fresh reload is the simplest fix - your locally saved score stays.

Is Haunted Inn good for a short break?

That is exactly what it is designed for. Rounds are short, nothing needs to be downloaded, and there is no account or commitment - open the page, play a few minutes, close it. Many players keep Haunted Inn open in a pinned tab for exactly this purpose.

Is it safe to play Haunted Inn online?

Yes. Browser games run inside a security sandbox and cannot install software or touch your files. The real risk on free gaming sites is fake download buttons, so decline any prompt to install something, never grant notification or camera permissions, and keep your browser updated.

My device gets warm and the battery drains while playing Haunted Inn. Is that normal?

Active gameplay makes the processor work harder, so some warmth and battery use are normal for graphically busy games. If the device feels uncomfortably hot, pause and let it cool for a few minutes, and close background apps so the game is not competing for resources.

I play Haunted Inn every day - will I run out of content?

Casual games are built around repeatable loops rather than a story that ends, so the same round stays enjoyable for the small improvements you make each time. Daily play is the intended rhythm, and your local best scores keep track of how far you have come.

Is Haunted Inn suitable for children?

Yes, Haunted Inn is family-friendly content with no violence beyond cartoon levels and no chat with strangers. Parents who want extra control should use their browser's family or supervised-profile settings, since those work across every site a child visits.
